It's been a day or two...

Updated: Oct 28

Last time we talked Grandpa Mel and I were headed on a sentimental journeyšŸš—šŸš—šŸš— for my birthday and our 40th anniversary celebration in the mountains of North Carolina. It did not disappoint. Perfect weather every day in the 70s and the leaves were just about full fall.šŸšŸšŸšŸ‚šŸ‚šŸ‚

We stayed at the Waynesville Inn and Country Club and if you're into golf (or even if you just need a central landing place in the mountains) this is a fabulous spot. Day one we were a little set back because that balcony room that I insisted upon was up two flights of stairs with no elevator. That was need-to-know info but we made it work. Laughing all the way pretty much. But I digress. Here are some highlights.

Some highlights

We golfed, rested, drove to some familiar places (and some not so familiar that map-girl took us) and ate a LOT of good food. It was a blast and we really rested well. I love my dogs but I never sleep all night when they're in the house. They had a great visit with the good folks at PoochiesPark in Orange Park, FL. They love our dogs and have cared for them while we are away for 9 years. Grateful for a few full nights of sleep.

Immediately upon arriving home it was time to prepare for the Seamark Ranch Family Fall Festival. For the event I baked over 80 items and sold most and was able to donate the remaining items to the Seamark families. Their mission is so very important, and we were able to meet several of the children and the house parents and everyone had a marvelous time. A dear friend came out and we had such a great visit. Weather was perfect! Y'all know I'm not a market girl and I am still not. Lots of work and I'm whipped this week, but it was worth it for sure! I may think about another one in a year or so. Maybe.

Whew! And this isn't even all!

Now the website is back up with some new variations to enter into the fall season here in Florida and we're ready to get back to normal. Order by Sunday, Delivered on Tuesday! It's good to be back and well-rested. We'll be adding a few additional items as we get closer to Christmas (think gingerbread people) but for now if there's something you'd like to see and it's not on the site, shoot me a note. Glad to explore what makes everyone smile.

Here's the sunset from this past Sunday evening to make us all happy it's fall and not yet November 2 when we sling those clocks back an hour. Love to all!
